Are you interested in raising money for the Centre and enjoy cycling? Well here's an opportunity to do both with the Nightrider 2018 challenge.

We are needing at least 10 people to sign up for the challenge as part of the West Yorkshire MS Therapy Centre charity entry.

What is Nightrider?

Nightrider is a fantastic way to discover a city by bike whilst raising funds for charity. Routes are chosen that will enable you to see all the highlights the city has to offer. There is full support, including medical and mechanical back up, as well as regular break stops throughout the night. Here you'll find snacks, water and toilets. At the halfway point there's tea and cake. And at the finish you can expect a cheer in and a well-earned breakfast and medal.

The route is all on road and is fully sign-posted. You can choose from a 50km or 100km route. Nightrider is designed as a fundraising cycle ride; it is not a sportive and it is not timed.

There are three cities and three dates.

Glasgow 19/20th May

London 9/10th June

Liverpool 14/15th July

Each person needs to be able to raise at least £175 in sponsorship as the cost of the centre entering is £1750 which of course needs to be covered.

If you are interested, get in touch with Joanne as soon as possible so that she can register with Nightrider for a charity place. Joanne can be contacted on 0113 263 7375 or via email  Joanne_ms_rawdon@yahoo.co.uk

Josh and Dan finished the 2017 Tough Guy Challenge.
Fiercely competitive, the brothers had  both the adversity of sibling rivalry and the enormity of the course to overcome. Josh finished the course in 3hsr 37mins whilst Dan came in at 4hrs 10mins.

To get some idea of what the brothers endured click on the link below.

Tough Guy 2017

As Josh points out; despite treating the number of people we do, the centre receives no funding from the government or any large sustained donations, every penny the centre earns is from donations, which is why your generosity is greatly appreciated, especially now more than ever.

The centre used to share a patch of land with a large business which would let us use part of it rent free. But unfortunately that business burnt down and we had to move; the business paid the rent of our new premises for 3 years while the centre got back on its feet. That time has now come to an end and the centre must now fundraise an extra £30,000 a year on top of normal running costs just to keep the centre open.

Hundreds of people every week rely on the centre for treatment and without the generosity of the public, we would not be able to provide the services we currently can. So thank you for taking the time to read this and for helping to keep a brilliant charity going.

With nearly £1000 collected already, help them reach their target of £1500 by donating on their JustGiving page.

Hi,I'm Dave Butler and the girls - my carers - are doing a skydive to raise money for the West Yorkshire MS therapy centre which I go for high dose oxygen treatment to help my MS. I suffer from secondary MS made more complicated by other health issues leaving me in a wheelchair.

We are planning a charity skydive to raise funds to help the MS therapy centre here in Leeds. The centre helps MS sufferers by delivering a oxygen type tank which patients can use to release their muscles from aches and pains caused by the MS.
MS (Multiple Sclerosis) is a life long illness, once you've got it you can't get rid of it! Multiple sclerosis, or MS, is a long-lasting disease that can affect your brain, spinal cord, and the optic nerves in your eyes. It can cause problems with vision, balance, muscle control, and other basic body functions. The effects are often different for everyone who has the disease. This vile disease strips the people of what they once was, effecting every day life, relationships, work, lifestyle and even self-esteem. It may not have a known cure but let's help the people living with MS have some relief...
The MS centre was given a 2 year rent free lease which is sadly coming to an end. The centre needs a whopping 30K a year just for rent alone. We are raising funds to go with what they've already managed to raise so far. So the centre will be able to pay this years rent, if we don't all pull together the MS therapy centre will be CLOSED!!! And our friends like Dave will be left to suffer, and we don't want that do we?
We need your help people!!!
Donate to MS therapy centre and help the sufferers from the deadly disease. In return myself and Loran will be throwing ourselves out of a plane at 18000ft. Let's help this charity be heard, let's make a change!!!!

*We totally get that not everybody will be able to donate, but if you could do a good deed for the day and share this page- in advance, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Our grateful thanks go to Jeannie who works at Loop for Yorkshire Water. Loop have a monthly charity and we were fortunate to be chosen on the back of Jeannie's nomination. Setting herself an impressive £1000 target, she was delighted to exceed it by a further £20!!

Jeannie spent the month baking and cooking along with friends and colleagues. Also they had a raffle and a bottle stall.

We should also thank all her colleagues who bought the buns, raffle tickets etc and thanks to Jeannie for all her hard work.

So, a sponsored slim next time then??

Long Can Hall's charity ball was an emphatic success with over £1500 raised for the Centre.

With not a spare seat to be had, entertainment was provided by Kevin Hedricks and Rickie Arthur + DJ and street magician (still can't figure out the trick). The auction and raffle were very, very well supported and grateful thanks go to all those who donated prizes or parted with their hard earned money and also to all the people who actually made it  happen.
