Our Infrared Sauna is up and running!
We are pleased to announce that our Infrared Sauna is now being made available to everyone, not just our members, though they will be given preference.
Wheelchair friendly, in its own private room complete with changing area and showers, the sauna will provide all of the relaxation benefits of a traditional sauna along with the increased health benefits that infrared offers all at a much more comfortable temperature.
Everything has been designed to make your sauna experience as relaxing as possible with purpose built showers fully equipped for those with mobility issues.
The room, which used to be the physiotherapy area, has been completely refurbished and now hosts our new therapy system.
This sauna unit differs from a traditional sauna in that there is no steam or "wet" heat which some find fierce and hostile. Instead, by using infrared elements the sauna uses advanced therapy to heat the user directly with only a small percentage of the heat heating the air. You will get all of the relaxation benefits of a traditional infrared sauna along with the increased health benefits that infrared offers all at a much more comfortable temperature. Infrared saunas are also dry saunas and many users find this makes for a more comfortable sauna session.
Scientists have established that infrared waves are beneficial to the human body because they are easily absorbed. This in turn stimulates the lymphatic, immune and cardiovascular systems and also help remove toxins. Infrared does all of this without any of the harmful rays of sunlight.
A minimum £8 donation (£10 Non Members) for a 20 minute session will help us run and maintain this wonderful new facility that we are fortunate and proud to have in our Centre. Please bring your own towels/bathrobes and toiletries as we cannot supply these.
Due to current Covid restrictions we can only accommodate one person in the sauna at a time.
If you have never used a sauna before and have high\low blood pressure or on medication or you are under the care of a consultant we ask you to fill in the form below and have it signed by your doctor, before your session. Infrared Sauna GP/consultant Form
